transmission [beat]

By encym on March 30, 2014 9:48 pm

Hi all -- Welcome to the beeped version of transmission [beat].

A new movement related to last week's ambient submission, inspired by Janek Schaefer's music (even though that might not be at all apparent). I saw another very beautiful beautiful performance this past week at Club Inégales.

Sorry for the beeps – a beep-free version is up on the encym Soundcloud.

I will make this one available for download via Bandcamp.

Following your ambient series on Soundcloud. Sounds suitable for a short movie... or an art installation. Nice

Good to hear, white cat!

Oh jeeze everything sounds so full and rich. The room is painted with smeared flowers and bowling shoes. How did you get the sounds so rich? As well as mastering?

Thanks so much for the positive vibes.
The short answer: By trial and error, over a very long period of time.
Slightly longer answer: I keep all the sounds I made for projects in a sample library and sometimes compose just for that library, so I have a good selection of stuff that sounds great, evokes moods and atmospheres and can be combined with existing and new material nicely. Then it's a matter of getting the flow right, the sounds to gel and actually making them into a piece of music (often I think of the ambient side of my work as not really music, but rather tapestry on a timeline or sculpture for the ears).
Glad you liked it!

Cheers mate! Beep.

Wonderful sounds in there, and a great track.

Thanks for providing a beep-free link, the watermarks were getting on my nerves smile

Thanks! And sorry for the watermarks. For some tunes, I just do not approve of free downloads. Despite the music industry going towards streaming, and therefore essentially free listening anytime anywhere, I think music is a work of art just as film and painting are, and should be paid. Would be interested to find out what other Weeklybeats contributors' thoughts on this are.

Nice vibe and sound textures. Gorgeous Machinedrum beats! Great work!
